“She almost winced when she looked at Cassian, wearing an officer’s suit and cap like they were perfectly tailored. Even the code cylinder in his pocket was at a regulation angle. “You’ve done this before,” she murmured, and he ignored her.”

“Some days, I couldn’t tell which of us was the most wretched and bitter.”

“But when we fell into poverty, when I started hunting, it got worse. Our mother was gone, and our father wasn’t exactly present. He wasn’t fully there. So it was me and Nesta, always at each other’s throats.”

I’m hoping people will finally get their heads outta their ass and realize both of them didn’t get along and that’s normal considering they are girls who are starving & have no parents and they where both raised differently. They where abused and angry and took it out on each other. So let’s not blame one of them only. Both of them shouldn’t be blamed. They where all going through a hard time and it passed. So get over it ffs

Literally why I never entertain the “nesta is verbally abusive” arguments. Feyre may be set up as the perfect victim but thats far from the truth.

Commenting on this again because I stumbled on a perfect quote from ACOSF to add to this.

For further context: This was after Gwyn told Nesta about how her sister’s death changed her perspective on their relationship and how trivial their fights seemed now that she was gone.

Nesta nodded slowly. Perhaps it wasn’t just her and Feyre, then.

Perhaps all sisters had difficulties, fights, chasms between them. She wasn’t perfect, but … neither was Feyre. They had both made mistakes.

And both had long, long lives ahead of them. What had occurred in the past did not have to dictate the future.

As mentioned in the book, Feyre is not perfect and has made mistakes in their relationship. To claim that Nesta alone was the sole aggressor between them and that she was “verbally abusive” completely erases Feyre’s own accountability in their relationship.

I never could understand how people read those few chapters in the first book and concluded that Feyre was a victim.

As the quote says, Feyre and Nesta’s relationship is no different than any other sisterly bond out there, filled with fights and difficulties and multitudes of misunderstandings.

My entire issue, however, is that Feyre is often framed as the “better” sister whose obvious mistakes get written off or excused.

Over everything, I hate how ACOSF positioned Nesta as the person who needed to be forgiven for all things. There was never any point in the book where Nesta was in a position to offer her own forgiveness to those who wronged her. This is true not only for her sisters, but her mate and the IC too.

This is especially true for her father, who at his grave Nesta didn’t voice how she forgave him for his mistakes/neglect/wrongdoings but instead nearly begged for his forgiveness and felt that she needed to earn his love.

This book was terribly one-sided and left sooo much unanswered or unaccounted for. Maybe the future books would finally come full circle and Nesta would get both the acknowledgement and the apologies she is owed. But I’m keeping my expectations low.

Yes yes yessss everything here. Like I get Nesta’s self hate is her depression talking but how come none of the others who are not suffering this way get any accountability? Like I get Nesta is a grown woman and as such should be responsible for her choices but sooo what does that make the rest of the fae who have been around for a lot longer? not only that but they’re in the seat of power. I’m over the whole idea that Nesta and purely Nesta was mean. Like people really pick and choose what they want to generalize Nesta into this idea of her being unforgivable when there’s literal canon those cabin we’re just ‘squabbles’ wherein Feyre resented Nesta for the relationship she had with her mother— Feyre who completely forgot Nesta enjoyed dancing I doubt she knew the abuse Nesta was suffering pre poverty years. And that’s not even considering all the utter bs the IC did to Nesta who had no right to any of that business

Elain telling Nesta “All you can think about is what my trauma has done to you” was incredibly ignorant and no one can convince me otherwise.

For some reason, Elain thinks the trauma that had resulted from that night belongs solely to her and Nesta is being selfish for trying to take any ownership of it.

Everything in Nesta’s life, has always been about Elain. She came first and she never stopped to think about how it could impact Nesta. Very rarely does Nesta have the time to face her own trauma and learn to heal from it because she was always in environments/situations that put her on guard to protect her sister. And Elain has always been comfortable allowing her to do so while she retreats to the background where it was safe. She has never thought twice about putting Nesta in these positions all her life.

When the sisters first come to Pythian, Elain completely checks out from the weight of the loss and trauma she has experienced. Which is completely understandable. But she isn’t the only one to have lost so much. So had Nesta. But at a time where Nesta may have needed her support, she wasn’t there.

All Elain could think about was what their shared trauma has done to her. But Nesta never cared.

Those first few weeks in Pythian? Nesta was there to check on her. To make sure she is eating. To ensure her wellbeing. To see to her needs. To make sure she is comfortable.

In ACOSF, for the first time in Nesta’s life, she isn’t capable of putting Elain first. But Elain is unwilling to confront the possibility that the trauma they both experienced that night may have affected her sister differently than it did her. As a result, she avoids putting herself in a position where she might have to face the full extent of that truth.

I’m not saying that Elain doesn’t have a right to feel greatly impacted by what had happened to her. She went through alot. But she doesn’t get to pick and choose whose trauma that night was greater and warrants more concern.

Elain as a character is a can of worms I will not open until her book releases. She’s interesting but bland: so I’ll wait for her to be fleshed out.

Elain’s relationship with her sisters though? Well-documented, well-discussed. SJM built a ghastly skeleton of their sisterhood in the early books and I was waiting for ACOSF to flesh it out exponentially. So, you can imagine my surprise when I realized SJM butchered the relationship between Elain and Nesta for the drama.

While it is true that their trauma is a separate experience, it is also shared. They are the only ones who can understand what each other went through—because no one else, in that series, had been forcefully shoved in a cauldron, had their humanity ripped apart. They’re the only ones who enjoyed and loved being mortal—who had an entire life before them, as humans, and had that life taken away from them in the most disgusting manner.

Other than sisterhood, it should’ve been the primary reason why they are each other’s most effective support system. They are healing from separate but familiar experiences.

But the thing is—Elain’s trauma manifested itself early. She took ownership of it from the very beginning and tried to heal. For months. In isolation. She retreated within her self, created a shell to reflect how hollow her trauma has left her. And Nesta was there for her every step of the way, threatening everyone who might cross the line.

Nesta never pushed Elain’s buttons, she never complained that Elain doesn’t want to talk, that Elain doesn’t attend parties, that Elain is doing nothing, that Elain is not responsive. She understood her sister. She supported her sister. Everyone did.

Because it was easier to be patient with someone whose trauma response was quiet, appropriate.

Because it wasn’t destructive and IC can take that. Atleast Elain isolated herself in their house under their protection. Atleast, at the end of the day, Elain still complies to whatever they need and demanded.

But when Nesta’s trauma manifested itself, it was late. It was an explosion of built up emotions; every violation done to her body—from the Cauldron and from Thomas, the war she was shoved in against her will, her becoming a fae—the same kind that oppressed, murdered, and enslaved humans. No human would want that. She did not want that.

Nesta isolating herself was her taking ownership of her trauma in the destructive way. I would know, I’ve been there. And it was ugly, it was maddening. It made her useless to the IC because they cannot control her, they cannot bring her into their lovely circle and provide Feyre a happy, peaceful family.

And they hated her for it. Because to them, the sisters owe Feyre atleast that; happiness. For all the things Feyre sacrificed, the least the sisters can do it to play their part in making her happy for once in their lives.

Elain, who managed to process her trauma months early, can do that. Elain, whose nature is quiet and kind, can pretend to be fine while she licked her own wounds in silence. Nesta can’t. Nesta, who did not had the chance to process her trauma, cannot do that. Nesta, who is strong and intimidating by nature, can no longer pretend to be fine while she licked her own wounds.

The IC disliked her for it—Elain for some reason did too. Because Nesta’s sharpness and unbending ways disrupted their fantasy of happiness.

Atleast that’s the premise of why ACOSF happened—

Honestly, the entire ACOSF would’ve worked if the IC wasn’t there. Genuinely, I think Elain and Feyre wanted what’s best for Nesta. But they listened to Rhysand, whose only priority was Feyre, who feared and hated who Nesta was and who she is now. That’s dumb, really dumb.

I can think of a hundred ways to help Nesta that does not include isolation in the House of Wind—their house—and being a goddamned warrior. It could’ve been a story of sisterhood between the Archerons but oh well, to each their own ig?

KANG KIYOUNG AS JUNG MYEONGSEOK IN SEASON 1 OF EXTRAORDINARY ATTORNEY WOO (2022 –; present)

haikyubts:

Lee Junho being okay with not being able to hold Youngwoo’s hand the moment she says it’s very uncomfortable for her. It’s Youngwoo who suggests holding hands, or trying to, at least, even if for those 57 seconds. And Junho’s endearing, sweet sweet smile when she says that agrees to it.

Junho saying it’s okay when she barely pulls a thirty second hand-holding and saying it’s okay, we can hold hands next time.

Lee my-feelings-aren’t-temporary Junho who is distressed at finding out the story about the Stonewall path and immediately suggests stopping to walk and going somewhere else because my man’s brain stops working anytime someone suggests pulling him and Youngwoo apart 😭😭😭

Lee Junho noticing that Youngwoo is being very uncomfortable in the courtroom and noticing the way she keeps fiddling with her hands.

Lee Junho who knows he still likes (loves) Youngwoo but doesn’t laugh at Youngwoo’s innocent question of “Do you still like me?” And instead answers with a “Yes, I do”, albeit he cannot resist teasing her by telling her she hurt his feelings and making sure she knows he’s teasing.

Lee Junho who perhaps finds it a little funny that Youngwoo has a folder of date ideas but being delighted in the fact that the list is long 😭😭😭

Lee Junho who asks if taking her home is written in the file or not, and suggests with starting something as simple as that to make her comfortable and to have long talks and get to know her better.

LEE JUNHO WHO TELLS HIS FRIENDS YOUNGWOO AND HIM ARE ON A DATE AND THAT SHE’S A LAWYER!!! A PROUD BF!!!

LEE JUNHO, WHO, DESPITE BEING TIPSY/DRUNK, IS FUCKING ENRAGED TO FIND OUT PEOPLE THINK IT’S SYMPATHY THAT HE HAS FOR YOUNGWOO AND NOT LOVE. NICE AND KIND LEE JUNHO WHO FUCKING LOSES IT ENOUGH TO THROW HANDS WHILE BEING PLASTERED BECAUSE HE HASN’T ONCE LOOKED AT HER IN SYMPATHY BUT AS A COMPLETE WOMAN HE TRULY LOVES.

Lee Junho who understands why Youngwoo took the case and doesn’t put her feelings down. Who listens when Youngwoo says “when you have a disability, I think merely liking someone is not enough. because even if I say it’s love, if other people say it’s not, then it’s not.”

Lee Junho responds with a sincere “Even if other people say it’s not, if you say it’s love, it’s love.”

LEE JUNHO WHO DOESN’T MISS A BEAT IN RESPONDING WITH “YES.” WHEN YOUNGWOO SAYS “LOVING ME IS HARD. BUT ARE YOU STILL GOING TO?”

Lee Junho who soooooo wants to kiss her and steps in closer when the lights go off but comes to his senses and takes a step back when the lights are on, because he knows Youngwoo might be uncomfortable and might not want to be touched/kissed.

LEE JUNHO WHO WAITS UNTIL YOUNGOO PUTS HER HANDS ON HIS SHIRT AND LOOKS HIM IN THE EYE AND GIVES HER CONSENT AND KISSING HER ONLY THEN.

Lee Junho who doesn’t laugh at Youngwoo’s inexperience about love and kissing and instead tells her tips on how to kiss better so that she’s comfortable in doing so.

Just…just Lee Junho y'all.

Just Lee Junho not being a green flag but an entire fucking forest. Lee Junho, a man written by a woman.

An ordinary, middle-class guy with an ordinary job who is understanding, sincere, loving and committed to his woman. The man of every woman’s dream.

This is the reason why everyone is nuts for him.

Just Lee Junho y'all.
